About the job
About the opportunity
Alcoa has an opportunity for enthusiastic, proactive and driven applicants to join our team as a Stores Officer at one of our Alumina Refineries or Mine sites located south of Perth. Opportunities may include permanent contracts, fixed-term contracts available now, or become part of our future talent pool.
We are looking for employees to work with us to realise our vision of making Alcoa a better, safer, more diverse and inclusive work environment for everyone.
Perhaps you have relevant skills but have not worked in the mining industry before? No problem! Just bring a can-do, progressive approach; because for us, a positive outlook everything!
Most of our Stores Officers work family friendly rosters of a 9-day fortnight though some roles may have the opportunity to work on a 10.3-hour day or 12-hour continuous night/day shift.
Your activities and functions are to ensure all materials are 'received', 'disbursed', 'accrued', 'binned', 'issued' and 'dispatched'; and reporting takes place using manual, mechanical or computerised equipment, depending on customer needs and priorities. Your strong attention to detail and task focus will assist in doing these tasks. In addition, in this role you will spend periods of time operating forklifts. The safety of yourself and other team members is also very important when working in the Stores environment.
Be part of a team that contributes to the company’s objective of providing the highest level of customer service in the products and services offered to meet internal and external customer needs. You will work closely with all employees on site and operate as a service to improve the safe and cost-efficient running of refinery or mining operations.
About you
We are seeking someone with:

- Forklift operating license
- Experience within mining/resources and manufacturing industries
- Self-motivation to work semi-autonomous in a small dynamic team
- Confidence to provide excellent customer service to our diverse workforce
- Willingness to listen and learn new processes and systems
In addition to this, it is highly desirable for you to have:
- Prior experience with computer systems for stock control and Stores functions
- Dangerous Goods Certificate, Dogging and MR truck license
